A Warm Welcome
On November 26th we honoured hard working, respectful students at the first Niji Mahkwa Honours assembly.
Christmas Dinner for Niji Mahkwa Staff and Students was held Tuesday December 11th at 11:30 am.
Niji Mahkwa School held its annual Breakfast with Santa for Niji Mahkwa students and staff on Thursday, December 20th. Everyone enjoyed the pancake breakfast and visit with Santa.
The Niji Mahkwa Celebrations Concert was held on Thursday December 13th at 6:00 pm. There was a great turnout and excellent performances by all students.
The Niji Mahkwa Boys Basketball is in full swing. They began the season on Monday, January 14 and will play nine games and a tournament before the end of February.
February was I Love to Read Month and we had several activities to go along with this theme. There were guest readers, Spirit Week, and daily activities to promote reading. Congratulations to Ms. Shah’s Grade One class and Ms. Sky’s Grade Eight class for reading the most books. Click to learn more.
Niji Mahkwa annual Heritage Fair was held on Wednesday, March 12th and Thursday, March 13th. It was a great success!! Click to read more and see pictures of the exhibits.
Reminders
Exams for Grade 7 and 8 students will be from June 9th - 17th. Go to the online Calendar for a complete exam schedule.
There will be a Nursery/Kindergarten-Grade 8 Farwell Fundraiser on Friday, June 20th. We will hold a Rummage Sale and Hot Dog Sale. Any donations would be appreciated.
Niji Mahkwa Awards Assembly will be held on Monday, June 23rd in the Niji Mahkwa gym at 10:00 am.
Kindergarten Farewell will be held on Monday, June 23 at 1:00 pm.
Grade 8 Farewell ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 24th at 10:00 am in the Niji Mahkwa gym.
Niji Mahkwa had its annual Earth Day Clean up on Friday, May 2nd in the morning. Students and staff cleaned up the school and surrounding community in the morning. Check out pictures of our clean up.
On Wednesday, April 30th, the Elementary students and staff held its Make and Take Math Night from 6:00 to 7:30 in the Niji Mahkwa gym. Check out some pictures of a great night.
On Friday, May 23rd Niji Mahkwa staff and students participated in Fun Day. There were several activities planned and the weather was great. Click the title to read more.
Mrs. Midford’s Grade 3 class has been studying insects, and butterflies in particular, for the last few weeks. On Thursday, June 5th the students sent their butterflies off into a new world of adventure.
