On Thursday, October 29th Shawna Cook, Standing Tall, had the opportunity to take two students to the Manitoba Aboriginal Youth Achievement Awards held at the Victoria Inn. They had a wonderful evening that Shawna and students Ceara Fiddler and Chantel Laquette won’t soon forget. They enjoyed entertainment by Aboriginal artists and were touched and inspired by what all the young award recipients had to say. The main message of the evening was: “No matter what, stay true to yourself and let nothing stand in the way of yours dreams.”
